Product Description
"Sea-themed glass" carved using traditional Edo Kiriko techniques
The colored glass is engraved with waves expressed in soft yet powerful curves. The traditional Edo Kiriko patterns "Kiku-tsunagi" and "Seigaiha" are placed between the waves, creating a sake cup that evokes the sea.
The chrysanthemum pattern is popular for its beautiful shine, and the intricate cutting requires high skill. Please enjoy this exquisite handiwork that only Yamada Glass's craftsmen could achieve.
The sharp straight lines of the chrysanthemum connections and the soft, hand-drawn curves of the Seigaiha pattern.
The Kikutsunagi and Seigaiha patterns are randomly placed on each piece. The balance of the cuts, the colors, and the positioning may all look the same, but no two pieces are exactly the same, and each piece represents a unique ocean.
When light is shone on it, the light and colors reflected in the various cuts look like rippling water.
Whether you pour a drink into it or just leave it on the table, it's sure to catch your eye.
We combine traditional techniques with modern design sensibilities to produce high-quality, beautiful products. Please enjoy the techniques and beauty of these products.
