"Auspicious Edo Kiriko" conveys feelings through two traditional patterns

Engraved into the colored glass is the traditional Edo Kiriko pattern, "Kiku-tsunagi."

The Kiku-tsunagi pattern is popular for its beautiful shine, and requires high skill to cut in detail. Yamada Glass's unique "Thin Kiku-tama Tsunagi Pattern" is made by carving tiny beads between the Kiku-tsunagi pattern, and is engraved with the traditional Japanese pattern of Seigaiha and thick, dynamic wave-like curves.

Both the chrysanthemum and the Seigaiha pattern are auspicious symbols. The chrysanthemum symbolizes eternal youth and longevity, while the Seigaiha pattern is imbued with the desire for a peaceful life. The continuation of the pattern represents "connection" and is also considered to be auspicious. We recommend this glass as a gift to convey feelings of celebration.

We combine traditional techniques with modern design sensibilities to produce high-quality, beautiful products. Please enjoy the techniques and beauty of these products.

"Yamada Glass"

Committed to "products that people want to use"
A workshop continued by three generations

Yamada Glass is an Edo Kiriko workshop that has been in operation for three generations. With experience in producing many products ordered by major manufacturers, the company is known for its high level of technical skill, which allows it to cut even thin glass.

While the studio makes use of its skilled techniques and unique designs to create works that reach the level of art, it is also committed to creating "products that people will want to use in their daily lives."

Not only can you appreciate the beauty of the cut, but you can also experience its charm with all five senses, from the harmony of colors when you pour a drink into it, to the sound of the ice clinking lightly, and the taste. This may be what Yamada Glass aims to achieve by creating "Edo Kiriko in everyday life," which adds elegance to everyday life.

Please try it out and experience the spirit in your hands.
