Beppu Bamboo Craft Flower Six-eye Iron Bowl
Beppu Bamboo Crafts, Traditional Baskets Softly Encase What's Inside The "Iron Bowl" Bamboo Woven from Thin Bamboo Strips The "Iron Bowl" is a round iron bowl that monks carried to receive food when they went to beg for alms. It is said that Shounsai Ikuno, who was made a Living National Treasure for his bamboo craftsmanship, created a bamboo product based on this shape. Even in Beppu, which is known for its bamboo crafts, iron bamboo bowls have been traditionally made. The bottom of the iron bowl is decorated with the "Hana Mutsume Weave", a typical bamboo weave. Hana Mutsume Weave is made by sewing two pieces of Mutsume Weave together. By using Hana Mutsume Weave on the bottom, the strength of the basket is increased, making it easy to use in daily life. The gorgeous world created by the two-colored bamboo can also be used as an interior decoration. The color of the contents inside can be seen through the gaps in the weave, and just by casually placing it, it will blend in as an item that colors your life. We hope you will enjoy watching it change to an amber color along with the various memories of your life.
