4色茶筒は、４種の木の皮をすべて使い、それぞれの組み合わせの妙を楽しむ茶筒です。「無地皮」は上から桜皮の無地皮、くるみ、さくら、かえでが使われており、上にいくにつれだんだん濃くなるグラデーションの美しさは魅力の一つです。内側にも樺細工を施すのは、日本古来の「奥ゆかしさ」を表現するためとされています。経年とともに色合いが深まり艶を増すのも魅力。水や湿気、直射日光を避けて大切に使うことで、長く美しい表情を楽しめます。
